Found a banning problem!
« on: December 02, 2008, 09:49:28 PM »
I was looking through the logs this morning and found a banning problem for at least one member. It seems one member that was banned from this site months ago was using a internet cafe in the Philippines. A member of ours which is in good standing seems to of used the same cafe and our system picked up the IP and automatically banned him.

I'm going to look at adding a contact page on this site so if a member is locked out of the forum they can contact us so we can look into the problem.

A Contact page has now been added for those that have been banned because of using the same IP of a banned member.

I'm afraid I do not see the humor in a good member being banned just because he happens to use the same computer as someone who deserves to be banned. Are you on some medication we should know about Theo?

No but I am a "bad" person, I don't deny that. But who is good and bad anyway? But I assume that you and most other people would call me evil.

I've always felt a person can be anything they choose to be, good or bad. Until now I've always considered you a good member of this forum. If you wish to change your good standing here that is entirely up to you.

I think that is a very good idea, especially considering some of the horrific problems Ron and Goodman have had to put up with in the past. I know I for one, like to log in whenever I can, wherever I am in the world, just to keep up. Maybe some of these problems with my account in the past could be attributed to this very same reason ? Who knows, but it is a glitch in the system, that could cause a lot of problems, and a lot of unnecessary worry on the part of the innocent party and the moderators.  That is a good save Ron, and I for one would not have even thought of that scenario.

In testing I found a problem with the contact form in that some banned members would not be able to use it. I have added a new contact form to take care of this problem.
